South Region: Lindsey Hack

Lindsey began volunteering for the UPA during her third year playing Ultimate as the MI women's college sectional coordinator for one year.  From there, she moved down to North Carolina for graduate school where not only did she play for UNC-CH but she was also the AC regional women's college coordinator for three years.  During that time, she became a regular NUMP voter and an UPA reporter and earned Women's College Regional Coordinator of the Year honors.  After her graduation from UNC-CH she became an assistant coach for the women's college program under Brian Dobyns.  During her time with the UNC women's program, Lindesey was also a member of Backhoe and has been one of the captains for the past two years.  This past summer, Lindsey founded the Triangle Youth Ultimate League (TYUL) with a few other very dedicated individuals in the area.  TYUL began running a club league that included 100+ participants, 23 coaches, and an eight week season.  Lindsey is currently the President of TYUL and has big plans for the region that include organizing clinics and camps, and increased focus on the middle school division.

Central Region: Luke Johnson

Shortly after graduating from North Park University in 2003 where Luke had started his college team, he took my first full time position as a youth pastor in Eugene, OR.  Luke was immediately asked to get involved with the Churchill High School program.  Five years later Churchill had emerged as one of the top high school programs in the country with both their boys and girls teams.  During that same period Luke started two middle school programs, served the UPA as both a Club Sectional Coordinator and then the State Youth Coordinator, as well as established Eugene's Spring Clinic and Eugene's Youth Summer League.  Luke has since moved to back to Chicago to attend graduate school and have begun to plug into the Chicago Juniors scene and serve on the Youth Advisory Committee.  And one of his greatest ultimate highlights was being asked to guest coach the Churchill High School girls’ team at Westerns 2008 and the Eugene Youth Club team at the 2008 Youth Club Championships.

West Region: Catherine Greenwald

While a newcomer to the Western region, Catherine Greenwald has been involved in Ultimate for more than 25 years in many different ways – as a player, mostly in the Boston area; as a UPA volunteer (most recently as the Massachusetts State Youth Coordinator); teacher (as a BUDA Youth Educator);  high school coach;  Ultimate day camp director; league organizer (as director of the BUDA High School Ultimate League);  tournament organizer (as a member of the Junior Worlds ’06 committee); and, lately, as the parent of Ultimate players. Catherine is committed to helping develop strong, viable youth Ultimate organizations in every state in the west, and is particularly interested in assisting anyone who would like to engage in outreach to PE schools or run a summer Ultimate clinic/camp.

Northeast Region: David Vatz

David has been an active Ultimate organizer since his high school days.  He founded the PA State Championship Tournament (now part of the UPA series) and numerous other tournaments.  During college at the University of Pittsburgh, he was the Executive Director of the Pittsburgh High School Ultimate League (PHUL) and founded the PHUL Scholarship.  Currently, David is the tournament director of the annual Mars tournament in Pittsburgh and is the Head Commissioner for PHUL.  He is also the Chairman of the PHUL Scholarship.  As a player, David has competed in High School, College, and Club, and has qualified for Nationals once in High School and four times in College.  David is currently an Assistant Coach of the University of Pittsburgh's men's team and he spends his days working for the Bank of New York Mellon as an Analyst.
