TEAM HISTORY/SEASON RECAP

During the 2003 spring season, Delaware Sideshow achieved great success by winning the Colonial Section Cup for the first time ever. At Metro East Regionals, they were eliminated by Penn State and George Washington (the very two teams who would end up battling for a bid to Nationals in the game to go). The team began discussing their goals for next season, and the primary objective was clear: to earn a bid to the UPA College National Championships.

The 2003 fall season for Sideshow proved to be a valuable learning experience. Early losses revealed some of the weaker aspects of Sideshow's play. The Wolfpack Invitational at N.C. State gave Delaware the opportunity to play against some good teams outside their region, while two later tournaments provided them with a look at some of their Metro East competition.

The spring season started with a boom, with Sideshow taking first place at Leap Year Celebration. At Huck O' the Irish, Delaware suffered a decisive loss to N.C. State. Sideshow learned some important lessons from the game, and demonstrated this fact a few weeks later at Ultimax, where they played two strong games against N.C. State and Virginia. Sideshow repeated their victory as Colonial Section Champions, and earned the #1 seed at Metro East Regionals. They rolled through their first three games at Regionals and won a hard-fought game against Queens-Kingston for the Metro East Championship, making them the first ever Delaware Men's Ultimate team to earn a trip to the UPA College Nationals Championships.
