The Williams Ultimate Frisbee Organization has been active at Williams College since 1976. In 3 decades it has evolved from a seven-man squad into an enormous organization that easily fields an A-team and two B-teams. WUFO has been consistently competitive in the New England region for the past ten years, experiencing many narrow misses at regionals. This year marks its first nationals appearance since back-to-back trips in '95 and '96. We take pride in being one of the last un-coached competitive teams in our region, and in our ability to consistently win big parties.
Williams had a very successful fall season this year, losing only one game to another college team, but started slowly in the spring season. Miserable Massachusetts weather prevented us from practicing outside until mid-April, and injuries prevented us from competing with a full team until regionals. We played close games with some great teams, including William and Mary and Brown, but had difficulty closing them out. WUFO really started clicking at sectionals and entered regionals in good form. We lost a close game to Brown in the semis, but made it to the backdoor final with four solid wins, where we won an exciting 15-13 game against UMass.
WUFO is extremely senior-heavy, with only 7 underclassmen on the roster. We rely on our depth, athleticism, and a core of several team leaders rather than a single dominant player.
